Attribytes Illustrations

If I can't have any food, drawing food related icons is the next best thing!

Attribytes is a revolutionary data platform geared towards food service manufacturers and distributors. There has been an everlasting problem in the food service industry with the effectiveness and proficiency between manufacturers and distributors and the products they buy and sell to each other. Attribytes is fixing this by focusing on the data and how it connects us all! I recently had the chance to collaborate with fellow designer Tyler Brown to work on creating 12 Illustrations for the company's product pages.

For these illustrations, the initial challenge was finding a way to help them properly convey their messages. It was important that they could be as straight forward as possible and as easy to understand since many of the benefits and features are specific to the food data processing industry. However, to those not familiar with the industry, I worried some of the selling points might get lost if I was unable to properly communicate the message, which could potentially turn away future clientele looking to learn more or invest in the Attribytes services. I thought the use of the icons would help simplify the messages for those not as familiar with the data processing side of the industry.

Aesthetically speaking, Attribytes already had an established brand that they wanted these illustrations to work with. I thought that creating illustrations of the different products being used would be not only create solid focal points for each icon, but would also be a nice touch to those familiar with Attribytes products. The overlaying icons were not initially planned, but after fearing that illustrations alone were not clear enough for everyone to understand, were added as a solution to help summarize the illustrations better. The icons also helped make the composition more visually appealing, and ended up helping the illustrations compliment the overall brand more successfully.
